What is a NAS device

NAS which stands for network attached storage, is used for storing data on the network. Data on a network can be stored on USB, Disk drives etc. This method of storage is not network based. Users would need to manually copy the data to the storage device. A NAS device makes it possible to store and access data on the network. The NAS device has a network card, which is configured with an IP address, which can be used by users to access the same.
